This policy explains what information the Scan My Treasure app ("the app") collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. The app is made by Tara Leigh Technologies LLC ("we," "us"). If you have questions, email taraleightechnologies@gmail.com.
The short version:
We don't sell your information.
We don't show ads.
We don't use tracking or analytics tools.
Your photos stay private unless you choose to join the public leaderboards.
You can delete your account and everything in it at any time, right in the app.
Information you give us
Account information. You sign in with email or Google, and we receive your email address.
Display name. The username you choose, if any.
Item photos and details. Photos you take or choose to appraise, and details about your items: title, category, condition, era, notes, and the AI's appraisal.
Descriptions. If you appraise an item by typing a description, we receive that text.
Resale records. Prices you paid, sale prices, fees, where you listed or sold, and similar bookkeeping you enter.
Mannequin pictures. Clothing photos you use to create mannequin pictures, and the resulting pictures.
Reports. If you report a photo, name, item name, or AI result, we keep the report and any note you add.
Your choices. Whether you've joined the leaderboards, people you've hidden, your app settings, and when you agreed to our Terms.
Information created as you use the app
Game progress: points (XP), levels, streaks, treasure hunt finds, and achievements.
Usage counts: how many AI appraisals and mannequin pictures you've used, so we can apply fair-use limits.
Information we don't collect
Your location. Photos are re-saved without location data before they're stored.
Your contacts or messages.
Advertising IDs.
Browsing history.
Crash or analytics tracking.
We use your information only to run the app:
to appraise your items and show the results
to store your inventory, resale records, Treasure Cards, and mannequin pictures
to run the Picker Arena: hunts, streaks, levels, and leaderboards if you opt in
to keep the community safe by reviewing reports and screening photos for inappropriate content
to answer you when you contact support
to improve the accuracy of appraisals. When the app appraises an item, an anonymous copy of the appraisal result can be reused to answer similar scans faster. This copy never includes your photo, name, or account.
We use a small number of service providers to run the app. They process information only on our behalf:
Supabase: hosts our database, account sign-in, and private photo storage.
Google (Gemini API): analyzes item photos and descriptions to produce AI appraisals and mannequin pictures. Photos and descriptions are sent to Google for this purpose only.
Google Sign-In: if you choose to sign in with Google.
We do not sell or rent your information. We don't share it with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users.
By default, everything you save is private to you.
If you turn on leaderboards (it's off until you agree), other users can see:
your display name
the photo, name, and value of your best finds
your rankings, such as profit, streaks, and hunts
Only photos that pass our automated safety check are ever shown. Any user can report a photo, name, or item name. Reported content is hidden right away while we review it. You can turn leaderboards off at any time in Settings or in the Arena.
Your account information, items, photos, cards, and records are kept until you delete them or delete your account.
Anonymous appraisal results (with no photo or identity) may be kept for up to 3 years.
Usage counts are kept for limits and billing. When you delete your account, they're no longer linked to you.
Delete an item: open it in the app and delete it. Its photo is deleted too, unless a Treasure Card you kept still uses it.
Delete your account: in the app, go to Settings → Delete Account and type DELETE. This permanently deletes your account and all of your items, photos, Treasure Cards, records, mannequin pictures, game progress, and reports. It can't be undone.
Can't open the app? Email taraleightechnologies@gmail.com from the email on your account, with the subject "Delete my account." We'll delete it within 30 days.

Information is encrypted while it travels between the app and our servers. Photos are kept in private storage that only your account can access. When the app shows a photo, it uses a short-lived private link. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
You must be 13 or older to use the app. Users under 18 should have a parent's or guardian's permission and should review this policy with them.
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
If you're a parent and believe your child under 13 has used the app, email taraleightechnologies@gmail.com and we'll delete the account.
Leaderboards are off by default, and no one appears on them without agreeing first.
You can:
view and edit your information in the app
turn leaderboards on or off
hide other users
delete items or your whole account
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as asking for a copy of your information. To make a request, email taraleightechnologies@gmail.com.
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above. If the changes are significant, we'll let you know in the app.
